Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Christrip Tours and Safaris. These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings, tours, safaris, accommodation arrangements, transportation, and related services provided by Christrip Tours and Safaris. By making a booking, making a payment, or participating in any of our services, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

1. Bookings and Reservations

A booking request is not considered confirmed until the requested services have been confirmed by Christrip and the required deposit or payment has been received. A written booking confirmation or other official confirmation will constitute confirmation of the reservation.

2. Prices and Quotations

All quotations are based on availability and rates applicable at the time of quotation. Prices may change due to seasonal rates, accommodation availability, government charges, park fees, fuel costs, currency fluctuations, supplier price changes, or changes requested by the client. A quotation does not guarantee availability until the booking is confirmed.

3. Payment

Clients must make payments according to the payment schedule communicated at the time of booking. Certain bookings, including short-notice, peak-season, or special arrangements, may require full payment before confirmation. Failure to make payment within the agreed period may result in cancellation of the provisional reservation.

4. Cancellation Policy

Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay, or reduced in the number of rooms or occupants are subject to cancellation charges based on the applicable season and the number of days before arrival.

During High Season, cancellations made 0–21 days before arrival attract a 100% charge, 22–44 days attract 50%, and 45–60 days attract 25%.

During Mid Season, cancellations made 0–14 days before arrival attract a 100% charge, 15–30 days attract 50%, and 31–45 days attract 25%.

During Green Season, cancellations made 0–7 days before arrival attract a 100% charge, while cancellations made 8–15 days before arrival attract 50%.

5. No-Show Policy

A No-Show occurs when a guest fails to arrive or use a confirmed reservation on the scheduled arrival date without prior notification or approved arrangements. A 100% No-Show fee will apply.

6. Reduction or Amendment of Bookings

Any reduction in the number of nights, rooms, occupants, travelers, or confirmed services may be treated as a partial cancellation and will be subject to the applicable cancellation charges. Changes are subject to availability and may result in additional costs.

7. Refunds

Where a refund is applicable, it will be calculated after deducting applicable cancellation charges and any non-refundable third-party costs. Bank charges, payment-processing fees, and currency conversion costs may also be deducted where applicable.

8. Booking-Specific Terms

Where a quotation, invoice, booking confirmation, supplier agreement, or itinerary contains specific terms that differ from these general Terms & Conditions, the specific terms applicable to that booking will take precedence.

9. Changes by Christrip

Christrip will make reasonable efforts to operate tours according to the confirmed itinerary. However, changes may be necessary due to weather, road conditions, accommodation availability, park regulations, government requirements, flight changes, mechanical problems, security concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where possible, a suitable alternative will be provided.

10. Force Majeure

Christrip shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, interruptions, or additional costs resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, government restrictions, strikes, civil unrest, war, pandemics, road closures, border restrictions, airport disruptions, or other unforeseen events.

11. Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided according to the confirmed itinerary. Room preferences and special requests are subject to availability unless expressly guaranteed in writing. If the specified property becomes unavailable, Christrip may arrange alternative accommodation of a similar standard where reasonably possible.

12. Transportation

Transportation may be provided using safari vehicles, 4×4 Land Cruisers, vans, aircraft, boats, trains, or other suitable means. Vehicle or transportation arrangements may change due to operational, mechanical, safety, road, or availability considerations.

13. Wildlife and Safari Experiences

Wildlife sightings are unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed. Christrip cannot guarantee sightings of specific animals or particular natural experiences. Clients must follow all safety instructions provided by guides, drivers, park authorities, and accommodation staff.

14. Parks, Reserves and Conservation Areas

National parks, reserves, conservancies, and other attractions are operated according to regulations established by their respective authorities. Christrip does not control park closures, entry requirements, conservation fees, road restrictions, visitor limits, or other authority decisions. Changes to mandatory fees may be passed on to the client.

15. Flights and Third-Party Services

Flights, accommodation, activities, transportation, and other services provided by independent suppliers are subject to their respective terms and conditions. Christrip is not responsible for delays, cancellations, schedule changes, baggage issues, or other matters directly controlled by third-party providers, but will provide reasonable assistance where possible.

16. Travel Documents and Visas

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports, visas, permits, travel authorizations, vaccination certificates where required, and any other documents necessary for their journey. Clients should confirm entry requirements with the relevant authorities before travel.

17. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended and should provide appropriate cover for medical expenses, emergency evacuation, cancellation, interruption, baggage, personal belongings, and other travel-related risks. Unless expressly stated otherwise, travel insurance is not included in the tour price.

18. Health and Fitness

Clients are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically fit to participate in their chosen activities. Clients should notify Christrip in advance of relevant dietary, mobility, accessibility, or other requirements that may affect the safe delivery of services.

19. Personal Belongings

Clients are responsible for their personal belongings throughout the trip. Passports, money, electronics, medication, valuables, and other important items should be kept secure. Christrip shall not be responsible for loss, theft, damage, or misplacement of personal belongings except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

20. Client Conduct

Clients are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully throughout their trip. Guests must follow instructions from guides and drivers, comply with park and accommodation rules, respect wildlife and local communities, and comply with applicable laws. Christrip reserves the right to terminate participation where a client’s conduct creates a serious safety or operational risk.

21. Responsible Tourism

Clients are expected to respect wildlife, local communities, cultures, and the environment. Littering, disturbing wildlife, damaging property, purchasing illegal wildlife products, or violating conservation rules is strictly discouraged and may result in termination of participation.

22. Website and Intellectual Property

All website content, including text, photographs, logos, graphics, branding, designs, and other materials, belongs to Christrip Tours and Safaris or its respective licensors unless otherwise stated. Such content may not be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, or commercially used without prior written permission.

23. Privacy and Communication

Christrip may collect and process personal information necessary to manage inquiries, bookings, payments, accommodation, transportation, travel documentation, and customer support. Clients agree that Christrip may contact them regarding their booking and travel arrangements through telephone, email, WhatsApp, SMS, or other contact details provided by the client.

24. Governing Law, Complaints and Acceptance

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Kenya. Clients should report problems during their trip as soon as possible to allow Christrip an opportunity to resolve them. Any dispute should first be addressed through good-faith communication and reasonable efforts to reach an amicable resolution.

By making a booking, paying a deposit or balance, confirming an itinerary, or participating in a Christrip Tours and Safaris trip, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
